CNC Fabrication Equipment
Irvin Services, located in Palmyra, Pennsylvania, has the equipment needed to fabricate various products. We have the following CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines that can fabricate everything from small, precise parts to larger applications.
Mandrel Pipe Bender
We have a three-stack 80mm capacity mandrel pipe bender with the added ability to push bend large radiuses or helixes. It can bend tubes of all shapes like square or rectangle (not just round). The stacking tool allows us to bend tubes of multiple radiuses. With mandrel bending, a steel rod is inserted into the tube as it is bent. This perfects the bend, preventing wrinkling or breaking. This machine is accurate, making repeatable bent profiles exactly the same.
Kohler Leveler
We have a Kohler Leveler that reliably and precisely levels and relieves stress from metal sheets and part blanks. Kohler’s leveling machines have no hydraulic system whatsoever; instead, they use leveling rollers and supporting rollers for precise leveling of all conventional materials. Our leveler can process material up to 5/8″ thick and 5/8″ wide.
Laser Cutter
Laser cutting uses a focused beam of high-intensity light to cut through a thin sheet of material. Using either a pulsed or continuous beam, a laser cutter vaporizes the edge of the material, creating a clean cut with exceptional accuracy. Laser cutting is useful for any machining process requiring superior accuracy and precision. It can be used for anything from simple parts to more complex components. Laser cutting is an excellent choice for mass production and high-volume component prototyping since it is highly repeatable with little dimensional variance.
There are several types of laser tools for custom metal cutting, but at Irvin Services we use a fiber laser. A fiber laser uses a series of glass fibers and pump diodes to amplify a seed laser, delivering a more intense beam with improved cutting power. Fiber lasers also require less maintenance, meaning less downtime for our team and a faster turnaround for your project.
Laser cutting is suitable for various sheet metals including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and brass. Our laser cutter can handle metal sheets that are up to 6’ by 12’ and 1 inch thick.
Press Brake
We have the capability of bending metal with our state-of-the-art hydraulic press brake. A metal sheet is placed between a punch and a die. The press pushes the punch and die together, folding the sheet of metal into the desired configuration. This can be used to form flanges, corrugations, curls and other geometries.
Our highly trained staff can bring your design to life with our high-capacity press that can bend metal into nearly any configuration possible. We can produce long bends or tight angles. From aluminum to stainless steel, we can bend any metal material.
Our press brake includes automated CNC crowning, which will produce the highest quality of uniform bends along the entire length of bend on large sheets (up to 4 meters wide). The maximum sheet thickness we can bend depends on the function of the tool selection, type of metal and length of bend. Our press brake has 220 tons of bending force available.
Folding Machine
We have a folding machine to bend metal in various ways. We can create unique, complex parts that you need for your project. Our machine offers maximum flexibility in bending cassettes, boxes and profiles.
Faro Layout Laser
Faro Tracer Laser for automated part layout.
Laser WelderÂ
IPG laser welder for precision welding up to 1/4″ material.
Waterjet Cutter
Waterjet cutting is the process of using a concentrated stream of high-pressure water to cut sheet metal and other materials. Often, abrasive particles such as garnet are added with the water for additional cutting power. CNC software controls the cutting tool, allowing for perfect repeatability and high dimensional tolerances.
The main advantages over laser cutting are that waterjet cutting generates no heat and is suitable for use with thicker materials. Laser cutting is mostly used for metal, but waterjet cutting can be used for many other materials, including glass, granite, wood, rubber and almost anything else!
Waterjet technology produces burr-free parts with minimal contact, leading to a cleaner final product that requires fewer additional processes to complete. It is ideal for both long- and short-run fabrication projects.
The waterjet cutter at Irvin Services has a 5-axis head, giving us three-dimensional cutting abilities within a 6’ by 12’ cutting area. We can design a fabrication routine that works for your project and produces flawless custom machine parts for any application.
Wood Router
Our wood router is used to cut patterns, grooves and designs in various types of wood. It creates a clean and smooth edge, whether straight or curved. It can also replicate those cuts on multiple pieces of wood.
Edge Bander
We have an edge banding machine to create durable and aesthetically pleasing trim edges for wood products. There are no joints and no glue line. Our machine uses a compressed hot air system to bond the edge to the panel perfectly, guaranteeing resistance to water and heat. It provides a long-lasting quality finish.
Wood Line Bore
Our horizontal bore and dowel machine is used for case construction of cabinets or furniture. It provides horizontal boring, glue insertion and dowel insertion.
